Hello! My name is Lacey Jenkins. I am from Nashville, TN. I am a senior at the University of Tennessee. My major is Educational Interpreting. With my degree I won’t be teaching but I may be an interpreter in the school system.
I decided on this career choice because I love American Sign Language and the deaf culture. As of now, I will be interning spring of 2011. My hopes are that I will intern at the Office of Disability Services here at the University as well as interning at my church.
My interpreting experiences up to date have been limited because I’ve just now reached the point where I have the ability to interpret. The majority of my experiences are interpreting in my church for different deaf people and different ministries.
